It's National Co-Production Week, which celebrates the benefits of sharing good practice and promoting the contribution of people who use services and their carers.

As an example of how we support people to have choice and control over decisions that affect their lives, we share some exciting news about a planned makeover at one of our residences, Fern House.

The team at Fern have recently decided to revamp the upstairs area of the house to create a bright and inviting space and transform their conservatory into an activity space and cosy chill out room.

They held a house meeting and brought in some paint tester pots to create a mood board of painted squares. Each person that we support chose the colour they would like to personalise their own bedroom door and looked through fabric samples and furniture catalogues for the conservatory to pick out the items they liked best.

Fern Manager Annette said, "It's really important to us to give the people we support an input into what their home is like and to help them to personalise it as much as possible to their own individual tastes and preferences. A person-centred approach is at the heart of all we do, and this is a great example of how we support people to have choice and control over their lives. It's been great working as a team on this project and we're all really excited to see the results of the makeover!"

We look forward to seeing the lovely new living spaces at Fern!
