About the Role:

Working alongside our existing family, specialist support and children’s services, the Family Support Engagement Officer will provide a single point of contact for families throughout their assessment period.

You’ll provide support to parents/carers and work in partnership with education and other agencies to support a child/young person. You will also work directly with individuals and their families in order to promote, strengthen and empower them with strategies and skills required to navigate a quite often confusion system.

The Family and Specialist Support is a comprehensive, professional, high quality service for children, young people and adults with a diverse range of neurological needs including ASC, ADHD, social communication delays, OCD, Tourette’s, mental health issues and more.

Our staff team deliver excellent services based on the needs of the individual, teaching skills and creating support solutions that enable individuals and their families to manage the impact of their difficulties.

The role will typically be Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm (dependant on contracted hours) but will occasional include evening and weekend work when required.

As this post will require you to travel and support across the county realistically you will need a full driving license with access to your own vehicle.

About You:

As Family Support Engagement Officer at Aspens, you should have:

  • A L3 qualification in Social Care (or equivalent) plus desirably a degree level qualification in a related field.
  • Previous experience working with families in the community
  • Previous experience contributing to multidisciplinary meetings with internal and external professionals
  • Desirably an understanding of Positive Behaviour Support and of the Educational, Health and Care Plan process.
  • A full Driving Licence with Access to your own vehicle
