Remembering Aspens in your will is easy to do

Making a will

It’s a good idea to use a solicitor. They will make sure your wishes are just as you want them, and can always advise you on other things such as inheritance tax too.

You can find a local solicitor through The Law Society.

There are a number of ways you can remember Aspens in your will:

  • A residuary gift or percentage of your estate is the most helpful gift. It is the remainder of your estate after gifts, taxes and expenses, and has the added benefit of keeping pace with inflation.
  • A gift of a fixed sum of money is referred to as a pecuniary gift. This can be any size you wish.
  • You may choose to leave a particular named item known as a specific gift, for example, a piece of jewellery.

You don’t have to be rich to leave a gift to us in your will. Every gift, no matter what size, is welcome and will help to make an amazing difference to the lives of people with learning disabilities for years to come.

Updating an existing will

If you already have a will and wish to change it, then you should contact your solicitor and let them know your intentions. They will either help you to create a new will or add a codicil to your existing will (this is a document used to make an amendment to an existing will, it may be less expensive to write a codicil than a new will).

Your gift can help to change lives!

This is the wording your solicitor needs:
