Recruitment Team, Sussex House, Battle, East Sussex TN33 0AE

About the Role:

At Aspens we work across Kent and Sussex; supporting individuals with autism spectrum conditions, learning disabilities and physical disabilities. We offer residential care, supporting living, day activities and a fantastic community outreach programme.

Moira’s House is a supported living service in the middle of Tunbridge Wells, home to 8 adults with learning disabilities and associated physical disabilities. The home is lively and the staff team are passionate and dedicated. We are looking for a strong team leader to join our team and help to continue the high standard of care we strive to provide.

As the Service Manager, you will be responsible for the operational day-to-day management of the service, ensuring continued compliance with relevant legislation. You will work in partnership with colleagues in the senior management team to ensure the provision of a high-quality service, enabling individual needs and organisational priorities to be met in accordance with available resources.

Your responsibility will include holding CQC registration, effectively promoting and enabling service users to live a high-quality life and managing a staff team, giving support and encouragement to the highest level.

At Aspens we pride ourselves on the fact that our managers are hands on and dedicated to supporting their staff and those we support. Along with your everyday tasks, your life at named services could also include supporting the guys with activities such as baking, doing puzzles, making music, watching films and many other activities in the local community.

About You:

As Service Manager you will be expected to have previous management or leadership experience in the provision of residential services. It is desirable that this experience is in combination with you having worked with those with Autism Spectrum Conditions but this is not essential.

You should, however, have well-formed knowledge of supporting individuals with learning disabilities and mental health issues, have a good understanding of CQC as applicable in supported living settings and knowledge of current legislation and other social care issues related to learning disabilities, mental capacity and depravation of liberty.

It is essential that you have had strong relationships with staff in your past roles and have the ability to manage staff training, assessments and supervisions.

You will need to hold a Level 5 Diploma or equivalent in Leadership and Management for Health and Social Care and preferably hold other care sector-related qualifications, however you will also be provided with a full induction and service specific training as part of your role.

Aspens is growing and developing its services and the new Manager will be expected, alongside this role to oversee a new Supported Living or residential service within 6 months of starting with us.
