Recruitment Team, Sussex House, Battle, East Sussex TN33 0AE

About the Role:

Hi I’m F I live in Birch Cottage. I am Caring enthusiastic and lots of fun!! I can do the majority of my own personal care and dressing, but I may need prompting to do this properly. I also like to tidy my flat, choosing what I am going to eat, helping to chop up and prepare making my own meals , baking and hoovering. Sometimes I may require some encouragement with these tasks, but it helps when the tasks are made fun and someone does them with me.

I have my own mobility car and I enjoy going out, especially to go shopping, I also like swimming, bowling, banger racing and trampolining. I also love going for long walks, kicking a football around and visiting the pigs where I live.

I am very perceptive and can tell what mood you are in and your feelings towards me. When I first meet you I can seem shy and quiet and it may take me a while to feel comfortable and to trust you.

I have a diagnosis of ADHD which affects me in many ways. I take medication to help me with my condition but I need support and understanding from my staff team to help me cope with everyday life. I become easily distracted and am always on the go..

When I communicate I tend to use key-words and fragment my sentences and can be very repetitive in my speech, this can make me difficult to understand at times, and when I feel I am not being understood I can become frustrated quickly. When I am anxious it helps to use humour to distract me.

It would be really nice if you would like to come and be part of my support team and join in with the fun we can have in helping me live my best life!

About You:

  • Experience of working with people with a learning disability and/or Autism
  • Experience of working with people who may display behaviours of concern
  • A willingness to learn new skills and receive feedback through regular observations and coaching sessions from our PBS Specialist team
  • A willingness to complete PBS qualifications – this requires at least L2 English and Maths
  • Ideally have a driving licence and be able to drive the F’s Motability car.
