Our first ever virtual run was a spooktacular success! A HUGE thank you to all those who took part in our first ever virtual 5K event and to those who supported it by sponsoring our fangtastic runners and helping raise vital funds for Aspens.

The virtual Spooky 5K run took place over Halloween weekend and it was great to see so many of our supporters, staff and those we support get involved.

We were thrilled to have the Mayor of Tunbridge Wells kick-start the weekend for us by officially 'opening' the event at our Cornford Lane site (although sadly due to social distancing guidelines this was for a video camera audience only). The Mayor was a brilliant sport and looked wickedly wonderful dressed up in her witch's costume!

We loved seeing our runner's devilishly delightful photos come in over the weekend as they completed their 5K runs or walks.  From a skeleton-clad lady with her matching pooch, to our Chair of Trustees transformed into a seafront running witch, it was truly heartwarming to see so many of you getting well and truly in the spooky spirit.

We're delighted to let you know that so far the event has raised over £4300, and the funds are still coming in. Thank you to all our spooktacular participants, all of whom have received a congratulatory certificate and Aspens keyring, as well as to those who supported the event by sponsoring our runners. An enormous thanks to Cripps Pemberton Greenish for sponsoring the event and to so many of their staff who took up the challenge of getting spooky and running 5K for Aspens. Thank you also to Adele from Pembury Fitness for doing a warm up for one of our teams before they ran.

Watch out for news on our next fundraising run - be it virtual or in real life - we do hope you can join us and get fit, have fun and raise funds for Aspens!
