Volunteer with us

Aspens is always on the look-out for enthusiastic volunteers to help us in the many different parts of our ever-growing organisation. If you volunteer with us, just a few hours of your time each week can make a really meaningful difference to the lives of the people we support.

We're delighted to welcome volunteers from all over the South East - and sometimes even beyond. Our amazing volunteers give their time, passion and skills for free to help Aspens ensure that people with learning disabilities and complex needs, and those on the autism spectrum, will have the opportunity to live life to its full potential.

Currently almost 200 generous volunteers of all ages and backgrounds give Aspens a total of over 3,000 hours of support each month. In return for their generously-donated time, volunteering for Aspens provides a fun and rewarding experience; an opportunity to develop existing skills and develop new ones; and a chance to gain valuable professional experience to give your CV a boost.

We have a range of volunteering opportunities available across Sussex and Kent, both during the day and in the evening, every day of the week. Why not get in touch to ask about doing your bit for Aspens?

Volunteer in an Aspens store

Aspens has high street stores in Bexhill, Crowborough, Hampden Park, Paddock Wood and Seaford.

Our stores sell quality donated items including clothing, bric-a-brac, toys, books and electrical goods.

Volunteering opportunities include working in-store; collection and delivery of furniture; house clearances.

If you’d like to volunteer for an Aspens store please contact [email protected]

Volunteer to help get people into work

A crucial part of the Aspens mission is to help the people who use our services to be active, contributing members of their local communities.

We place individuals and groups in external volunteering placements and give them the support they require in their roles, as well as working closely with their employers.

If you’d like to volunteer to help get people into work, please contact [email protected]

Volunteer in the great outdoors

If you’re not able to commit to a regular activity, why not contact us to ask what special projects we’re running at the moment? Aspens provides a wide and varied range of activities for the people who use our services, including a number of sporting pursuits in the great outdoors (particularly during the warmer months) and exciting day trips for fun, relaxation and quality time together. We’re always looking for help in these one-off activities so if this sounds like an ideal way for you to get involved, please get in touch!
