Gardening Volunteer Roles in Pembury

If you’re passionate about gardening or horticulture, Aspens offers unique opportunities at our Pembury site.

In 2023, Aspens showcased The Natural Affinity Garden for Aspens at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, designed by Camellia Taylor and sponsored by Project Giving Back. The garden won a Silver-Gilt medal and now lives permanently at our Pembury home.

We’re looking for volunteers to help:

  • Maintain and nurture the award‑winning garden
  • Support our wider gardens team with general gardening tasks

Volunteer with Our Animals Team (Register Your Interest)

Our Animals Team in Pembury offers one of Aspens’ most popular and rewarding volunteering opportunities. Volunteers help care for our friendly animals, support enrichment activities and contribute to creating a calm, therapeutic environment for the people we support. These roles are perfect for anyone who loves animals, enjoys being outdoors and wants to make a positive impact through hands‑on care.

Because these positions are in such high demand, our current volunteer spaces are full. However, we expect more opportunities to open in the future, and we welcome anyone interested to register their interest so we can contact you when new roles become available.

📧 To join our waiting list for future animal‑care volunteering opportunities, email [email protected]

Volunteer in Our Charity Shops (Bexhill, Crowborough & Paddock Wood)

If you’re searching for charity shop volunteering in Kent or East Sussex, Aspens’ high street shops are a great place to start.

Our shops sell quality donated items including clothing, books, toys, bric‑a‑brac and electrical goods. Volunteers help with:

  • Sorting and preparing donations
  • Serving customers
  • Visual merchandising

These roles are perfect for anyone looking to gain retail experience, meet new people or support a local charity.

Volunteer at the Bluebell Café in Pembury

Our welcoming Bluebell Café offers a range of volunteer opportunities, including:

  • Helping in the café
  • Assisting with events and community activities

If you enjoy working with people and being part of a friendly team, this is a great place to volunteer.
