Parking We have some parking spaces available but this is limited and at busy times the car park may be full. We politely ask that visitors do not double park and those arriving by car take extra care and reduce speed when entering our site/car park from Cornford Lane as pedestrians are often using this area. The site Our site has a variety of animals, a playground area, an outdoor gym and woodland walks that our visitors are welcome to enjoy. We have rabbits and guinea pigs in the small animal barn and donkeys, ponies, alpacas, emus, goats, sheep and pigs in enclosures on the grounds.* Read more about our Aspens animals here. Please note our playground area is open, but some areas of our woodland are closed while maintenance and safety work takes place. Please take note of any signage and avoid these areas for your own safety. Please be mindful that our site is at the heart of the living area of many of the people we support, some of whom work in and use the cafe and help care for our animals. We are, essentially, inviting members of the public into their home and we ask you to please be respectful of this at all times. It is also a working site used by Aspens' care, maintenance and office staff. Please do not enter the residential area on the north side of Cornford Lane (opposite side of the road from where the Bluebell Cafe and animals are located). We politely ask visitors to refrain from drinking alcohol in any of our areas that are open to the public and to only smoke (including e-cigarettes/vaping) in designated areas. Please do not use BBQs or light any type of fire anywhere on our grounds. Well-behaved dogs are allowed at our Cornford Lane site in the outside areas only, and should be kept on a lead at all times, including in our fields and woodland areas, as some of the people we support are fearful of dogs and we have livestock on site. Please clear up any dog mess and take home with you. Adders and grass snakes We are fortunate enough to have a rich and diverse range of wildlife at our site. This includes snakes and, in the warmer months, we occasionally have sightings of adders and grass snakes. During these months we advise sticking to the the pathways around the site. Adders can be distinguished from grass snakes as they have a distinctive diamond pattern down their back. They do have a venomous bite and if you are unfortunate enough to be bitten we advise going straight to Accident & Emergency. Map of site *Please do not feed the animals as they are on a special diet and eating other foods (including carrots) can make them ill and affect their behaviour. Please ensure children are supervised at all times when visiting our site. Thank you for your cooperation. Please support us To help us maintain our site and to contribute towards the work we do, rather than charge an entrance fee, we ask visitors to consider making a donation in return for using our grounds. There are collection boxes on site and you can also make a donation when you visit the Café or Reception. Alternatively, you can donate online and sign up for our free newsletter.
