Adopt an Aspens animal

Adopt an Aspens' animal

At Aspens, individuals who attend our Day Opportunities Centre care for a variety of animals, including donkeys, alpacas, pigs, rabbits, guinea pigs, ponies, ducks, goats and our resident emus, Charles and Camilla! They learn about feeding, cleaning, and grooming and find the experience therapeutic and rewarding.

By adopting an animal with Aspens, you’re not just supporting our animals; you’re also helping us provide valuable life skills and experiences to those we support. Your adoption ensures we can continue our vital work and offer local families the unique opportunity to enjoy our animals.

Give the gift of adoption!

Looking for a unique gift for the animal lovers in your life? Choose from our range of adoption animals, including goats, emus, alpacas, and more!

For just £25 to £30 per year, our Adoption Pack includes:

  • An information pamphlet about your chosen animal
  • A certificate with a picture of the animal, signed by our CEO
  • A fun children’s activity sheet
  • One-year adoption
  • A complimentary drink and snack at our Bluebell Café

Your support makes a world of difference. Adopt an animal today and be a part of something special!

About our animals

Visit us at Aspens, Cornford Lane, Pembury TN2 4QU, and meet our delightful animals, including rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets, donkeys, ponies, sheep, pigs, goats, emus, and alpacas! Our small animal barn and enclosures are open to the public all year round.

There is no entrance fee, but we kindly ask for donations to support our work and help care for our animals and grounds. You can also support us by adopting one of our Aspens animals – find out more below!

Our animals are lovingly cared for by individuals we support, who are on the autism spectrum or have learning disabilities, as part of the City and Guilds Skills for Working Life qualification.

When you visit Aspens, there’s plenty to see and do:

  • Enjoy a meal or treat at The Bluebell Café, offering freshly prepared meals, homemade cakes, afternoon teas (by pre-order), and drinks.
  • Explore our woodland walk and playground area.
  • Have fun on our giant wind chimes and musical instruments for the little ones.
  • Stay active with our outdoor gym.

Please be mindful that our site is home to many of the people we support, who also work in the café and help care for our animals. We ask you to respect their space and our working environment.

Well-behaved dogs are welcome in the outside areas but must be kept on a lead at all times. Please clean up after your dog and take waste home with you.

Please do not feed our animals as they are on special diets. Ensure children are supervised at all times. Thank you!

Volunteer with our animals

If you have a passion for animals and have a few hours to spare, we have opportunities to volunteer with our team. You'll help with feeding, cleaning and general animal care. No experience is necessary. Please contact [email protected] to find out more.
