Location: Various locations (Kent, East Sussex, West Sussex, Surrey and Bexley), travel required (access to own vehicle is essential to this role)
Hours:  37 hours per week (Monday – Friday 8:30am – 16:30pm)
Salary: 
£30,000 per annum (Dependent on experience)

About the Role:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Social Care Trainer to join our People Department. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced trainer or social care professional looking to develop their career in learning and development.

As a Social Care Trainer, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective mandatory training programmes to colleagues across our organisation. You will play a key role in ensuring our workforce remains compliant, competent and confident in delivering high-quality support to the people we serve.

The successful candidate will be passionate about learning, possess excellent communication and facilitation skills, and be committed to their own Continuing Professional Development (CPD).

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver mandatory classroom-based training to social care staff.
  • Facilitate engaging, inclusive and compliant learning sessions.
  • Deliver training programmes including:
    • Non-Abusive Psychological and Physical Intervention (NAPPI)
    • Basic Life Support and First Aid
    • Makaton
    • Medication Administration
    • Manual Handling
  • Deliver training to external organisations when required.
  • Promote Positive Behaviour Support and Active Support principles throughout training delivery.
  • Review and update training materials to reflect legislative, policy and best practice changes.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness through feedback, assessments and performance data.
  • Maintain accurate training records and compliance documentation.
  • Support organisational learning and development initiatives.
  • Demonstrate an ongoing commitment to CPD and professional growth.

What We’re Looking For:

Essential Requirements

  • A recognised training qualification (such as the Level 3 Award in Education and Training or equivalent), or willingness to work towards one.
  • Excellent presentation, communication and facilitation skills.
  • Strong organisational and administrative abilities.
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office and Learning Management Systems.
  • A valid driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to various locations as required.
  • Relevant mandatory trainer qualifications or a commitment to undertake the necessary CPD.
  • The ability to maintain accurate learner records and training administration.

Desirable Experience

  • Train the Trainer qualifications in core social care subjects.
  • Experience delivering training within a social care environment.
  • Experience working in health and social care settings.
  • Ability to effectively manage groups of adult learners.
  • Experience adapting learning delivery to suit different learning styles.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
