Aspens featured on BBC South East television news yesterday (Thursday 18 November) in a report regarding the recruiting and retaining of social care staff at a time when the UK is facing a national staffing crisis in the sector.

The report highlighted how Aspens has written to local authorities, councillors and MPs asking for urgent help in recruiting and retaining our frontline keyworkers who provide vital care and support to people with learning disabilities and on the autism spectrum.

Gillian Bryant, Operations Director; Ella Harbour, Senior Support Worker and two of the people we support, Linda and Andrew, took part in the piece, giving their views on the issue, including why working in the sector is so rewarding and the difference social care workers can make to the lives of people they support.

CEO Robbie Shanahan will be interviewed on the Mark Carter breakfast show on BBC Radio Sussex tomorrow (Saturday 20 November) around 7.15am, on the same subject, so do tune in.
