World Autism Acceptance Week is back from 27 March – 2 April 2023!  While there is more awareness of autism in society today, we still need to change the way in which we all accept autistic young people and adults, and their families, and increase awareness so they feel better understood and supported in their communities, schools and workplaces.

We are delighted and hugely excited that garden designer Camellia Taylor (The Garden Taylor) is creating a show garden, The Natural Affinity Garden for Aspens, at this year’s RHS Chelsea Flower Show, supported by Project Giving Back.

Throughout the week our Children, Family and Specialist Support team will be sharing their top autism acceptance tips and how gardening can be a great way for young autistic people to enjoy the physical and mental benefits that engaging with nature brings. Gardening is accessible to all, from nurturing a single flower in a pot, to growing vegetables in an allotment.

We’ll also be sharing stories and experiences from some of the people we support at Aspens and hearing their perspective on autism acceptance.

Keep a look out across our social media!
