We had a right royal celebration for our Platinum Jubilee party yesterday! It was wonderful for our community to be able to celebrate together again in-person after the challenges of the pandemic.

The celebration was held at our Pembury site, with cream-tea laden tables set up outside the Bluebell Cafe for our guests. A sea of red, white and blue was everywhere you looked - with party-goers dressed in the colours of the union jack and balloons, bunting and decorations popping with royal-themed colour.

There was a fantastic turn-out, with people we support, our staff team and volunteers and family members, friends and supporters joining in the celebrations, and the atmosphere was warm, fun and joyful. Guests enjoyed an awesome entertainment line-up, including a fantastic disco and karaoke provided by Acorns day opportunities, a beautiful violin performance from Katherine who accesses our services at Roebuck, nostalgic songs and entertainment from the wartime musical singers the Hotsy-Totsys and an excellent performance from our very own Britain's Got Talent Star, Ryan Weeks (Support Worker at Aspens).

There was also face-painting, bouncy castles, a penalty shoot-out and fish and chip and ice cream vans for all to enjoy!

Thank you to everyone who came along and enormous thanks to everyone who organised, baked, face painted, performed and helped out on stalls, led by our wonderful Director of Operations, Gillian Bryant.

The day was a truly amazing team effort and a reminder of what a wonderful and special community we have at Aspens. The smiles on everyone’s faces said it all, and people are already asking if we're going to be holding the event again next year as they enjoyed it so much!
