Following the extreme weather conditions experienced over the past 24 hours road users in the South-East are being advised by National Highways not to travel unless it’s essential.

Due to the extreme conditions some of our services have been affected, as follows:

  • Day Opportunities - all are closed today (Acorns, Sussex House, Roebuck Enterprises)
  • Bluebell Café and Christmas tree sales – closed today
  • Outreach services may be affected depending on conditions – please contact your individual service manager to confirm.
  • All stores are open: Bexhill, Crowborough, Hampden Park, Paddock Wood and Seaford (no collections or deliveries today). Store opening hours subject to change and may need to close earlier if weather conditions change, please phone the store ahead of visiting to confirm. Store details here.
  • Staff shuttlebus – will continue to run but service may be limited, please check with driver (John Hancock).

The outlook is that the weather will remain very cold over the next few days with widespread frost, freezing fog and more wintry showers in some places.

Please take care if you do need to venture out and consider taking extra, warm clothes and blankets with you, in case you get stuck. Advice from the AA on driving in snow can be found here.

We will review the ongoing situation at midday, and again at 4:00 pm today, to determine how our services will be affected tomorrow. Should there be more severe weather overnight we will do an additional review at 7:00 am Tuesday morning and update our website to reflect this.
