We are offering the fantastic opportunity to run the Virtual Virgin Money London Marathon this October. There are limited spaces still up for grabs to run for Aspens in the high profile event on Sunday 3 October 2021.

All those running for Aspens will receive an official running number and vest before the event and will have access to the Virgin Money London Marathon app powered by TCS on the big day. The app, which has been designed to bring the virtual experience to life, will enable runners to log their 26.2 miles and earn their coveted finisher medal and New Balance T-shirt.

Wadhurst based business Nikwax is sponsoring goody bags for all those running for Aspens. The business produces waterproofing products for outdoor gear and is donating its popular Basefresh and Basewash conditioners as well as drybags. Café Direct are also donating a pack of their Machu Picchu coffee to the goody bags.

All Aspens’ virtual runners can set up a fundraising page on the charity’s website where they can share their story and encourage friends and family to support them.

Rich Portman Smith, Retail Marketing Manager at Nikwax and Richard Anstead, Director of Business Development at Aspens both leapt at the fantastic opportunity to run for Aspens. The pair met recently for a training run.

Richard Anstead said, “Please consider signing up to run for Aspens – it’s a great chance to set a fitness goal whilst raising funds for our fantastic charity. I decided to take on the challenge myself and my own goal is to raise £4000 for a Boccia set (a paraylmpic sport similar to bowls) and an interactive games table for our centre in Battle, which provides activities for people with learning disabilities and autism. I’d love to be able to provide these resources for the centre as it would make a huge difference to the people we care for. I’d be so grateful if you could sign up to run or support me by donating to my page.”

Rich Portman Smith said: “Nikwax is proud to support Aspens with their fundraising through the VLM this year. We hope that all the Aspens runners enjoy their Nikwax products and drybags. Fellow Nikwax team member Nicky Ellis and I will be running for Aspens in the event ourselves - we’re really looking forward to it and we wish good luck to everyone taking part on the day!”

The deadline to enter is 24 September and spaces are subject to availability.*
