Our Sussex House Day Opportunities team has once again showcased their creativity and community spirit at the annual Battle Scarecrow Competition, and this year, they achieved a remarkable double win.

Their handcrafted scarecrow impressed the judges and captured the attention of visitors, securing first place in the Charity category for the second consecutive year. In addition, the team was awarded Best in Show!

This year's theme was 'Wild About Battle' and over 30 scarecrows lined Battle High Street during the event, each one being unique. The Sussex House team’s entry stood out not only for its vibrant and detailed design but also for the teamwork and dedication behind it. Sharon, Maria, Nikki, and Sarah from the team, worked closely with the people we support to bring their vision to life, demonstrating the power of creativity, collaboration, and inclusion.

On judging day, the team was joined by Regional Area Manager, Meraud Davis, who celebrated alongside them as the results were announced. The victory marks another proud moment for Sussex House Day Opportunities and Aspens, highlighting their ongoing commitment to engaging with the local community and championing the talents of the people we support.
