Aspens is 100% focussed on reducing the risks of Covid-19 to the people we support and care for, side by side with the safety and wellbeing of our staff. As well as priding ourselves on responding quickly to constantly changing government guidelines, we have taken the view that this should be seen as an absolute minimum and have endeavoured to do what we, as a charity, feel is right to protect the children and adults using our services and staff.
This disease is still very much at large, and we continue to have the safeguarding of all as our number one priority. We ask for your understanding and patience as we continue to carefully follow the most up-to-date advice, procedures and guidelines from the government and ultimately make decisions based on our knowledge of those we care for and the best ways to keep them safe.
We are hugely grateful for the tremendous support from the whole Aspens family in helping to keep those we care for and our carers safe during this very challenging time.
All of our shops (Paddock Wood, Crowborough, Bexhill, Seaford and Hampden Park) and the Bluebell Cafe and Cornford Lane, Pembury site have now reopened to the public. We continue to follow the latest government COVID-19 safety guidance in our shops, the cafe and across our Pembury site to keep everyone as safe as possible.
We will keep you updated on any changes via this web page and our social media pages.
Health and social care workers are advised to pause contact tracing while they are working.
This advice is being given as health and social care workers are working in highly specialised secure environments, trained in infection prevention and control processes and wearing medical grade PPE as required. Specialist contact tracing controls are in place to understand how staff are moving around the workplace and community and when they are at risk of contracting coronavirus.
All our staff are tested regularly with both LFD and PCR tests. If Aspens or one of our staff are made aware of a positive result or has any of the symptoms associated with COVID-19 they will immediately self-isolate.
