Two brand-new, modern and spacious supported living accommodation properties suitable for autistic individuals and those with a learning disability. The properties are located in Walmer, a beautiful village on the East Kent coast, with good access to local amenities and attractions. We have current availability in both properties (September 2024). 

Cormorant and Puffin

Cormorant and Puffin are 4-bedroom supported living developments in the picturesque town of Walmer.  Two of the bedrooms in each property have their own private bathrooms and there is a large family bathroom for the remaining two bedrooms. There is a shared kitchen/diner and a living room that opens out into the garden in both properties and both have private off-road parking. 

The services will run under the supported living framework, and will offer a high level of support, with all staff trained in Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) and active support approaches to ensure they are embedded into everyday life. 

There will be a focus on improving quality of life, with input from the PBS specialist team for supporting individuals who display behaviours of concern.

By understanding the context in which these behaviours occur we can implement pro-active, evidence-based strategies to enhance all areas of an individual’s life.

The local area

The properties are in Walmer, Deal and are within walking distance to the town centre. Bus links are a short walk from the property along with Walmer train station. A number of large and smaller supermarkets are available locally as well as a variety of community amenities including gyms, sport clubs, cafes and restaurants and pubs.  A number of green outdoor spaces can be accessed nearby including coastal walks and parks. 

Deal often makes it onto lists of the best places to live with its picturesque colourful buildings, seafront promenade, bustling independent shops and restaurants, and two castles - in fact, it was ranked as one of the best places to live in the whole of the UK by The Sunday Times last year.
